For those who want to
get to know something new and different our farm offers
the opportunity to see ornamental plants and observe
the process of milking cows. The trails of the farm
are available to all guests and walking them will take
you to cow pastures, the dairy farm, and a flock of
sheep. You can even visit the Arenal River, an important
river for our region because it is the source for Lake
Arenal. |

The Arenal Volcano tour
transports guests to the active northwest side of the
volcano. The tour begins with a hike and depending upon
which side of the volcano the lava is flowing, we go
either to the trail “Los Tucanes” at the
National Park or Mirador El Silencio. It is possible
to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife, magnificent
lava rock formations and the Arenal Lake just in time
for sunset!
The tour concludes with
a relaxing stop at the mineral hot springs, this is
optional, you can choose entrance and dinner at Tabacon
Hot Springs or entrance at Baldi Hot Springs.

(The 4 principal atractions of the area, all in one
day!!)
This tour begin at 7:30 a.m. with
a visit to the Hanging Bridges of Arenal , a hiking
trip through the tropical humid forest of 3 kilometers
passing 15 bridges from 5 to 100 meters long and up
to 60 meters high; an expectacular scenery to see birds.
Our next stop is La Fortuna Waterfall. This waterfall
has a huge swimming hole with large rocks nearby, perfect
for a rest after and invigorating swim. Then we drive
back to town to have lunch at “Lava Rocks Restaurant.”
About 3:00 p.m we start the tour to the volcano. It
is a hiking trip through the tropical humid forest for
about 45 minutes to get to the lava flow from 1992.
Now, put on your bathing suit again to relax in the
thermal waters of Tabacón Resort for a few hours
and have dinner there.

The Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge
is considered one of the richest sites in the continent
for the observation of birds. Beside an abundance of
birds, Caño Negro is also refuge of many other
animals like: sloths, three types of monkeys, caimans,
lizards, bats, and a variety of native flora of the
wet land. Our tour to this beautiful region, leaves
from La Fortuna, driving for about an hour and a half
until Los Chiles, which is a rustic town that meets
to only five kilometers of the border of Nicaragua,
it is here where we take the boat down to Río
Frío for about three hours. From the beginning
of the trip, our professional guide will explain each
one of the plantations that we will see on the way,
as well as the flora and fauna of the region.

Class II and III
Enjoy the best rafting trip in the Sarapiqui River.
The tour of 7.5 miles it is done between two little
communities La Virgen and Chilamate. It is a very safe
section for it is formed by continuous rapids of crystal
clear still water pools. On this trip you can enjoy
of four rapids class II, twenty of class III, all of
them of a good technical level.

This excursion starts
in two different ways; whether it be comfortably seated
in an tractor cart, that lasts about 20 minutes, or
horse back riding approximately 45 minutes, after we
arrive at the observation deck we start a 30 to 45 minute
natural history walk where you will see and learn about
the tropical ecosystems though one of our specialized
guides.
Our cables are located
in such a way that they start from platforms at ground
level ensuring that if a tree did fall it will not produce
any time laps in the tour. The cables, 10 in total,
span lengths of 200 meters up to the longest of 800
meters; each cable offers a different sensation and
experience crossing canyons, observing waterfalls, over
the tops of trees or leaving from a spectacular OBSERVATION
TOWER 18 meters high. The Fortuna and Pino Blanco waterfalls,
along with the majestic Arenal Volcano accompany us
on this trek.

We start with a little explanation
about how to drive the ATV and safety rules. We road
to La Fortuna Waterfall, next after this we go to Jauri
Town to watch different kinds of plantations, later
we come back on the same way to visit a nice butterfly
farm, we followed to La Guaria Town looking for the
Arenal River, right there we have time for a little
snack; with a refreshing shower finishing soon to return
to the base and its respective hotel.

For those people that would not matter get wet and
muddy, in this fascinating adventure under ground
to only 45 minute from La Fortuna, we will take you
through narrow passages and incredible labyrinths
and chambers where we will see the famous formation
of rock named "La Papaya," and other stalactites
and stalagmites that they surely will astonish to
everybody. Also you will see spiders and bats which
are frequent in this place.

This is a good combination
of horseback ride and hike and a beautiful stage. Those
are trained horses that will take you until the entrance
of the waterfall through pastures, forest and tall hills.
The views of the Valley of San Carlos and the tropical
forest that enclose it are spectacular.
At the end of the road,
we will leave the horses and we will descend walking
for a natural trail until the base of the waterfall.
This fantastic area is very quiet and special to relax
and swimming for a while.

of the forest traveling on Peñas Blancas River,
with the opportunity to observe many animals like: monkeys,
